How do I start becoming a raver?

I know dontstayin lists the upcoming events in my state (Arizona) but the problem is I don't really have anyone to go with? Would it be strange to go to a rave alone? I went to one once last year with a friend (he's not into raving anymore so I'm not gonna ask him) and it was actually really fun. I don't care much for kandi or drugs, I just really LOVE dancing! I'm not trying to get tips on dressing like a typical raver or anything, I stick with my own style. I'm just wondering how to become friends with ravers. I can be shy sometimes which really sucks. It prevents me from doing a lot of things I wish I could without caring so much what people think. I just really want to start going to raves to dance with people and have fun. I literally stay home all the time :c I'm such a loooser! Help!?
