What to do when your friend is an A$$ to his GF...that you like?

Well, I get that you have feelings for her and you seem like a nice enough guy or you wouldn't bother. However, at this point it is his girlfriend and if you really care for her you would talk to this guy about the treatment of his girlfriend. Sometimes we just need a voice of reason to put us in check and maybe that is what he needs.
