Why Are Some Ravers Hatful About NonRaver Wearing Kandi, etc?

I've seen in some raver fourms where ravers rant and hate on other ravers for "looking down" on them for doing drugs or being rude and hateful about younger kids who wear pony bead breaclets and don't rave. I though ravers were about PLUR and accepting each other. I can understand why they're upset about raving and kandi becoming mainstream and scene kids doing it but isn't it better to teach people about the lifestyle and get rid of their ignorance instead of bashing them?
